About This Event

We are pleased to share that students of Classes 6 to 12 had an enriching educational visit to Dainik Jagran today, located in the Adityapur Industrial Area. Dainik Jagran is a leading hub for journalistic excellence and modern printing technology.

Highlights of the visit:

1. Location & Operations
The editing process takes place in the CTP (Computer-to-Plate) area on the second floor, while the final printing is done in the ground-floor press. Students observed firsthand how high-precision machines are used in the printing process.

2. Printing Process
Students learned about the CMYK printing system – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. They saw how news articles and photographs are first imprinted on aluminum plates, similar to a high-resolution xerox. These plates are then sent to the city office for layout design and sequencing into final newspaper pages.

3. Key Facts & History
- Each aluminum plate is used only once, supporting sustainable practices
- The press prints between 35,000 to 60,000 pages per hour
- Students also explored the history of printing, from Gutenberg’s movable type to modern techniques like relief printing and planography

The visit offered valuable insights into journalism, printing technology, and the daily operations of a major newspaper house.

Thank you for your continued support in providing such experiential learning opportunities for our students.

Warm regards,
